New samples for datings on the way

A set of older ice samples are almost ready to be send to the lab for trying dating some very promising layers of organic matters.

We've been at the ColLab facility of Milano Bicocca University few weeks ago, together with Prof. Walter Maggi, sawing additional chuncks of of ice from the Vasto's ice core.

This is part of a 7.8 m long ice core extracted in the Fall 2013 during MONICA project, in another ice cave of Canin massif, and now ready to undergo further analysis.

First results have already been presented at EGU few weeks ago (you can find the abstract here http://meetingorganizer.copernicus.org/…/EGU2017-17181-3.pdf ) and now this set of ice chuncks will hopefully contribute to unravel some part of th puzzle the C3-project is trying solving.
