Ruhr Universität Bochum - Department of Geography
We are so proud to present our ice-in-cave research project on Wednesday 26th, 2019 at the Department of Geography (Faculty of Geosciences) of the Rurh University in Bochum (Germany).
Renato R. Colucci, scientific project leader of C3, during its invited talk will be presenting what have been done in the last three years of the project showing the main results obtained especially in regards to the microclimatology of such environments and the links with permafrost evolution.
The invitation arrives after the publication of two important results obtained monitoring and modeling the high altitude cave environments of the Julina Alps (Italy).
The first one is published on the Journal Science of the Total Environmnet and discusses the potential of using computational fluid dynamics modeling to study the interactions between airflow and ice melting in caves, while the second one has been very recently published on the jopurnal Progress in Physical Geography and is related to the in-rock permafrost degradation which abruptally occured in 2014.
The invited talk is organized in the frame of the 2019 Research Colloquium of the Bochum University and will take place at the Ruhr-Universität Bochum Fakultät für Geowissenschaften Geographisches Institut Universitätsstraße 150 D-44801 Bochum
